THE GAME

You have a $10 million budget to build your team. Your team must consist of eight (8) selections: 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 3 receivers or tight ends, 1 kicker and 1 defense. You can pick anyone you want so long as your total team does NOT exceed your budget; You must fill out a complete roster and pick all 8 positions.

As the season progresses, you are allowed to juggle your roster by trading according to the schedule in the yellow box at the right. You need not trade if you don't want to. When trading, you may only exchange a player for the position designated for him in the player values listing. (ie a running back can only be a running back and can only be traded for another running back.)

The stats of each player on your team translate into points and ultimately a score for your team for any given week. Your overall team value and the individual player values will change depending on each week’s performance.

Your team will be placed in a division and will play a 16 week schedule with both head-to-head match-ups as well as non-division games. Head-to-head play does not begin until Week 2.

Playoffs start in Week 12. Sixteen (16) teams qualify for the annual "Fingerlakes Bowl” championship bracket. All division winners are automatically entered. Depending on the number of divisions, the balance of the Fingerlakes Bowl is filled by next best overall records, which qualify as wild cards. The next best 16 teams will play in a 2nd flight, which is the "Cayuga Bowl”. If more than 32 teams play a third bowl, the "Seneca Bowl", is played and so on. ALL TEAMS QUALIFY FOR THE POST SEASON and are eligible for prize money.

ALL teams in the Fingerlakes Bowl will receive cash prizes. In the next flights, teams with the best playoff records will receive cash prizes. i.e 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, & 9th place. A breakdown of prizes will be available once we have a final count on teams and all entry fees are received.

For 2006, we are increasing the payout for the weekly high points and adding another for the second highest points. For the first time in league history, we will also be rewarding the league leader at the end of the regular season.

To do this, we are eliminating the prize money for the average high points in the season. This change should spread the prize money out even further than in previous years.

All entry fees, less league maintenance ($25/team) and a temporary web development fee ($15/team), are returned to the league in the form of cash prizes. The FLFFL exists soley for the enjoyment of its membership.

We have a post-season party as soon as feasible after NFL Week 17; usually it is the NFL Wildcard Playoff weekend. All FLFFL participants are encouraged to come and meet your fellow fantasy coaches for food, drink and football.

At halftime, league rules and scoring alterations, if any are proposed, are discussed and voted upon. In order to allow all coaches to comment, prior to the party, all league matters, if any are proposed, are published to the league for email responses.

TACKLING THE DRAFT / TEAM ENTRY FOR THE FIRST WEEK

Upon registration, an email containing a link for your team set-up will be issued. Using it, each coach will be able to access all league reports and to select their initial roster, which is due by 1pm on Sunday, September 10th. Please be sure to read through instructions on using The Configurator™, our online roster selection tool.

WEBSITE TEAM SUBMISSIONS ARE HEAVILY PREFERRED AS THEY MAKES THE PROCESS OF GENERATING OUR REPORTS MUCH EASIER TO MANAGE.

Those without access to the internet can submit their teams to the commissioner, Bill Wynkoop, via email at flfll@rochester.rr.com or by phone at (585) 461-1409. BYE WEEKS

During the season, each NFL team has a bye or open date. If you own a player who is scheduled for a bye in the upcoming week, you must trade this player or you will receive zero points for that position for the week.

EARLY (PRE-SUNDAY) GAMES

There are a number of Thursday and Saturday games in the NFL. If you would like to trade for or drop a player who is scheduled for an early game (Thursday, Saturday), you must submit a VALID roster prior to the start of that game(s) — this means pressing the SUBMIT button and receiving a confirmation that your team has been accepted. Once the game(s) starts, all players in these contests become locked into any rosters for which they have been selected.

Should you wish to change the make-up of your team after the start of an early game, the players in these games will be grayed out and unavailable, however The Configurator™ will allow you to change any players for whom games have yet to start. Cut-off for roster submissions remains at 12:59pm on Sundays.

REPORTS

Initial league reports will be live on the website no later than August 30th; as NFL roster cuts, we will update our rosters accordingly.

Weekly league reports are available no later than the Wednesday evening following any given week’s play; many times much sooner.

LEAGUE RULINGS

The intent of our league is to be as fun and as competitive as possible. If and when a ruling is needed to address an issue, the commissioner’s say is final.
